Public Stress Test Notice

Welcome to the first Public Stress Test of Monsters & Memories!

What this is:

  • A scale test of systems related to downloading, installing, and logging into the game.
  • A scale test of the current status our networking and server infrastructure.
  • An opportunity to see happens when zones contain large numbers of active players.
  • An opportunity to test DB read/write at scale.
  • An opportunity for us to spot ancillary bugs stemming from higher user count.
  • An opportunity for you to see the game firsthand, despite it being very early in development.

What this is not:

  • An Alpha, Beta, Pre-Alpha, Omega, or any other test indicating that we're close to releasing. We are still working on our Proof of Concept at this time.
  • A test of class balance, content fidelity, art, etc...
  • A solicitation of feedback on bugs or design/art changes.

We're likely aware of many of the content & gameplay bugs you'll encounter.

Please don't let this discourage you from discussing the game.

What you should expect:

  • Incomplete classes, content, and art.
  • A placeholder UI.
  • The potential that the game doesn't install or run for you.
  • The potential that the game experiences networking issues.
  • The potential that you get dropped unexpectedly while testing.

Please feel free to stream, record, make videos of, or otherwise discuss the game.

We're aware that the game is still early in development, but we feel that it's better to get this technical information now, rather than to wait until later in the process.

As part of our open development process, our ability to learn from this test and resolve issues will allow us to have open playtests in the future, which focus more on the game itself.
